Use Hooks In LinkedIn Ads to Increase Ad Clicks by 200%

Back in 2017, I was struggling to get people to click on my LinkedIn ads, let alone convert. I would write long, boring descriptions that lacked hooks.

No one wanted to read them, and I almost gave up thinking LinkedIn ads just didn’t work. But it was my job to make them work, so I kept going. Then, lo and behold, I learned about the importance of using hooks in LinkedIn ads.

What is a Hook and How Does it Work in Advertising?

So, what is this mysterious ‘Hook’? 🤔 Simply put, it’s that initial spark, the irresistible opening line, or compelling image that grabs your audience’s attention and refuses to let go.

Think of it as the headline act of your ad – the one that draws the crowd. A hook can also be described as a short, attention-grabbing statement that is used to grab the reader’s attention and make them want to learn more.

It’s the difference between a successful LinkedIn ad and a failed one.

Here are a few hooks that I use to increase my LinkedIn ad clicks by 200%

✅ Questions: I started my ad copy with a question that my target audience would be interested in answering. For example, I asked “Are you tired of feeling stuck in your career?” or “Do you want to increase your sales by 30% in 30 days?”

✅ Statistics: I use statistics to show my audience the value of my offer. For example, I said “30% off Shoes, BUY NOW or you’ll pay more in seven days” or “70% of ads would convert better with good creative.”

✅ Testimonials: I included testimonials from satisfied customers to build trust and credibility with my audience.

For example, “It was a struggle getting leads, but after working with Crom Salvatera, I now have more clients than I can handle” or “XYZ helped me to land my dream job.”

✅ Shock value: I use shock value to get people’s attention, but I did it in a way that was still relevant to my target audience.

For example, “Did you know that most small Mum and Dad businesses would entrust their social media to their teenage son to manage?” or “If Social Ads Don’t Work Then You Are Leaving Money on The Table”
